By accessing or using Inheritfy ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Inheritfy is a digital inheritance platform that allows users to:

  • Store documents and files in encrypted vaults
  • Designate recipients to receive documents
  • Appoint trustees to verify life status
  • Configure automated delivery of documents based on verification

3. Account Registration

To use Inheritfy, you must create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete registration information
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
  • Accept responsibility for all activities under your account

4. Subscription and Payments

Subscription Plans

We offer three subscription tiers: Starter ($7/month), Premium ($19/month), and Legacy ($39/month). Annual billing is available with a 17% discount.

Free Trial

New users receive a 14-day free trial. No payment is required during the trial period.

Billing

Subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis. All payments are processed securely through Stripe. Prices are in USD and exclude applicable taxes.

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds are provided for partial billing periods.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Store illegal or prohibited content
  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Infringe on intellectual property rights
  • Transmit malware or harmful code
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
  • Interfere with other users' use of the Service

6. Your Content

Ownership

You retain full ownership of all documents and files you upload to Inheritfy. We do not claim any ownership rights over your content.

License

By uploading content, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and transmit your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service.

Encryption

Depending on your chosen encryption mode, your content may be encrypted in ways that prevent us from accessing it. You are responsible for maintaining any encryption keys required to access your content.

7. Recipients and Trustees

When you designate recipients or trustees, you represent that you have the authority to share their contact information with us and that they consent to receiving communications from us regarding your account.

8. Life Status Verification

The Service uses various methods to verify your life status, including check-in prompts and trustee verification. You understand that:

  • The Service relies on timely responses to check-ins
  • Failure to respond may trigger verification protocols
  • Document release occurs only after verification thresholds are met
  • We are not liable for false positives or delays in verification

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Inheritfy shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:

  • Loss of data or documents
  • Unauthorized access to your account
  • Delays in document delivery
  • Errors in life status verification
  • Service interruptions or downtime

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Inheritfy, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

11. Intellectual Property

The Inheritfy name, logo, and all related marks are trademarks of Inheritfy. The Service, including all software, designs, and content (excluding user content), is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

12. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your access to stored documents may be revoked. We recommend exporting your data before canceling your subscription.

13. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or through the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.

15. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association.

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
